September 2015:
Uncle Ku's original Statement about Na'i Aupuni Candidacy

Ea

How many times and how many ways do we have to say it before our voices are heard? Through the long years, in fighting the endless "Akaka Bills," speaking out against federal recognition in endless hearings and petitions to the Dept. of Interior, in our prayers in sacred places, through letters to the editors, our Facebook posts, and gatherings in Thomas Square...

Kanaka Maoli want independence and we want the just restoration of our Kingdom.

I don't believe the so-called "state" or occupying U.S. federal government should interfere in the Kingdom's internal affairs or those of its citizens. But, just as so many of us show up at hearings convened by the "state" and "federal government" even as we dispute their right to declare jurisdiction over us, I've decided - after much deliberation and under duress - to run as a Delegate to the Na'i Aupuni 'Aha, so that I can show up and speak out as a dissident voice, opposing the runaway train of "federal recognition" and defending the future of our independent Kingdom.

I know many people will think I have joined the "FedWreck" club by enrolling in this process - but this is not true. I will always be loyal to the Kingdom. It was not easy to find this course of action presenting itself to me as the next Pono battle I have to fight, especially as it is not likely to be immediately understood or appreciated by some of my friends and wellwishers. But I refuse to let the FedWreck guys have it all their own way!

Sometimes you just have to go right into the source of the hewa and stand against it, no matter what others think. As a delegate candidate, I stand with others who have arrived at the same difficult decision. We will form a coalition representing all those who believe in the continued existence of the Kingdom and who support the

de-occupation of our lands. This is my charge. And I will do my utmost best to meet this challenge.

Top: Professor Francis Boyle - why we should vote to restore the Kingdom.
